presenting the simplest yet the quintessential SALSA dip…a mexican meal cannot be complete without this basic hotsauce…totally in love with it..a bag of homemade tortilla chips and salsa…perfect for anytime snack…

today m enjoying a midnight movie with my favourite snack..slurp slurp…

Preparation Time: 15 min.
Cooking Time: 5 min.
Makes 1 cup.

Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 tomatoes
  • 2 tsp chilies
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 capsicum
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp oil

Method

  • blanch the tomatoes in hot water for about 10 minutes. remove skin and chop.
  • Pierce the capsicum with a fork and hold over medium flame until the skin blackens. Remove from the heat, rub off the burnt skin and chop.
  • Heat the oil and fry the onion for 1/2 minute. Add the remaining ingredients and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • serve the salsa warm or cold.
