Pinwheel Sandwich with Rainbow Salad

oh god! finally!! it took me months to shed my inhibitions and pen down what’s on my mind….almost all the time…good food…recipes…thanks to my friends for believing in me..

As a kid i use to love eating jam rolls, swiss rolls…mouthwatering!! yummilicious!! today i made the non-sweet version of it and my family simply loved it ..adding my own twist to the traditional recipe..heres the perfect breakfast delight to keep you happy n content throughout the day..


For the Wheel: (makes 12-15 rounds)


  • 9 bread slices(sides cut)
  • 1 large boiled potato
  • 1/2 tsp crushed chilli ginger
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp roasted jeera powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste

Accompaniments :

In a mixing bowl mash the potato and add all the ingredients other than the bread slices, coriander chutney and tomato ketchup. Divide the mixture into 3 parts. keep aside


Take an aluminium foil and 3 bread slices. using a rolling pin flatten the bread slices joining them vertically to form a long sheet. Place one portion of the potato mixture on one side of the bread sheet. tightly roll it once. In the remaining sheet first spread 2 tsp of coriander chutney and then the tomato ketchup. give it a tight roll.


Repeat process for the remaining bread. will make three rolls. place them in the freezer for 5 mins. so that all the ingredients bind together and roll becomes firm. Using a sharp knife cut each roll into 4-5 slices of half inch thickness. serve with rainbow salad, coriander chutney and tomato ketchup.

  1.  Use fresh bread.
  2. Adjust consistency of ketchup and coriander chutney for easy spread, but make sure the bread doesn’t become soggy.
